Blogging from bed.

My first attempt at blogging using the Blogaway app on my phone. I've been bed bound with the flu all weekend so I guess now is as good a time as any to try it it out.

Just wanted to let you guys know that my sweet friend, Candice (from I Have Run) is giving away a free entry to the South Valley Half Marathon which is here in Utah at the end of August. So head on over there to enter her giveaway!

Good luck! I must get back to my warm tapioca pudding now. Happy running!

Last chance to enter!

Hey all! I'm really excited about the response I've gotten about the Pink Half.   So many of you are really juiced about this race! And for good reason. It promises to create amazing memories for all of us running.  And, of course, there is nothing better than getting to enjoy a race knowing that you are helping out a good cause, too. Just wanted to post quickly to let you know that I will be choosing a winner first thing Thursday morning so be sure to enter if you haven't already.

Also, FYI, the Pink Series is hosting The Pink 5k in Alpine on April 23rd. This race is a ladies only event (yay!) on a screaming downhill course. (Can you say PR?!) It's a perfect kickoff for your half marathon training AND if you are registered for the half marathon you get to run the 5k for only $15! Very cool. So much of the fun stuff that is offered at the Pink Half is making an appearance at the 5k- running with women, great race swag and handsome men in suits and pink ties greeting us at the finish. Love it! Also, just to make sure they covered all their bases, the race directors are having an Easter egg hunt and other Easter festivities immediately following the race. Will be a fun one for your kiddos to come and cheer you on and then get to play a little themselves. Can I just give a huge shout-out for women race directors?! Leave it to gals to delve into the details and think of everything. I am loving everything I know about both of these races! To register for the 5k, just follow this link to get to the registration page and you can sign up for the half, the 5k, or both races in one fell swoop.

I'll leave you with a pic of me in the pink compression socks I'll know I'll be sporting at one or both of these races.
Love my Ragnar Team!

Good luck, guys! See you back here Thursday!

St. George Half Marathon. And stuff.

I'm still running! And, can I just say that I am so thrilled that I can come here to talk about it from time to time because I'm pretty sure all my facebook friends are starting to roll their eyes every time I mention running. It goes something like this- Facebook says, "What's on your mind?" And I think, "Well, lots of thoughts are running through my head. Running thoughts. Thoughts are running. Hey, I ran today! Or yesterday. Or signed up for another race, etc.,etc., etc." And then I have no choice but to write about it, right?! I know I'm not the only one. By the way, I totally get how that could be annoying.  :)

What have I been up to lately? List time!
  1. I just signed up for marathon #2! Salt Lake City Marathon on April 16th. Just started training for it last week and so far, so good. I even ran 13 miles on the treadmill yesterday and somehow kept a good attitude about it. Oh yeah, I remember why, I watched The Notebook while I ran! I love that movie. Swoon city!
  2. My local Train4Autism chapter is forming a team to run the Utah Valley Marathon, Half or 5k on June 11th.  Thai Guy and I are running the full and we are hoping to recruit at least 20 others to run any of the 3 race distances as part of our team.  If you are running or know anyone that may want to run this race (full, half or 5k), let me know! By just signing up with our team you can get $10 automatically donated to Train4Autism. Easy peasy! And, of course, there is plenty of opportunity to fund raise, too, if you'd like!
  3. Last month, I ran the St. George Half Marathon in sunny St. George, UT and finished with a time of 1:57:21. Not a PR but a nice run in amazing weather. I hadn't planned on running this half but we were going to be in town for my husband's work conference anyhow, so why not?! Here's a bit of video from my finish. Lady in black. My boys may be little but they are LOUD! ;) Love my cheering section.

The next few months promise to be very busy but the kind of busy that I love! Happy 2011!
